• Considered an important part of the problem

Search problems

Consists of

• State space
• Successor function (functions: move west, cost: 1.0)
• Start state and Goal test
  • Think of where the game begins and how the game ends

Aim: Find a sequence of actions that yields the ending state from the start state

Search problems are models

• We can only model things
  • All models are wrong, but some are useful
    • We capture only some parts of the data with our model
